| Writer's Block: What's the Plan? |

A little of column "A", a little from column "B"
I prefer to have a plan or a good idea of how things are going to play out for the day/week. I often write out a list of things I want to do or take care of. Sometimes a list helps me function better. But it's always great to be spontaneous from time to time, like taking a trip, or doing something else instead of your normal routine. I adapt pretty well and am pretty patient, so spontaneity is no big deal for me. |

Local Marine Charged in Paycheck Dispute
(WXYZ) - A U.S. Marine from Mount Clemens is charged with breaking into a Marine Recruiting office and vandalizing the place.
24-year-old Adam Transki was charged with felony breaking and entering and malicious destruction of property in connection with the case.
Transki is accused of breaking into the recruiting office on Groesbeck Highway between Cass Avenue and Elizabeth Road. On Tuesday, recruiters at the office reported the incident to police.
Several items in the office had been damaged.
The U.S. Marine Corps local recruiting division says Transki was a recruiter at the office and was reportedly in a dispute over his paycheck.
According to officials at the Marine Corps local recruiting division, Transki had a momentary lapse of judgement and had a clean record before this.
Transki could face up to 10 years for breaking and entering and up to five years for the destruction of property charge.
He was arraigned on the charges in Clinton Township on Wednesday.
The U.S. Marine Corps may also taking action against Transki. |

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Well, at least the salsa is low-cal. The West Michigan Whitecaps, a minor league baseball team, will be offering up major league cholesterol, carbohydrates and calories in an enormous hamburger being added to the menu this year at the Fifth Third Ballpark.
The 4-pound, $20 burger features five beef patties, five slices of cheese, nearly a cup of chili and liberal doses of salsa and corn chips, all on an 8-inch sesame-seed bun. That's a lot of dough!
The Grand Rapids Press reports that anyone who eats the entire 4,800-calorie behemoth in one sitting will receive a special T-shirt. Saner fans can divide it up with a pizza cutter and share.
The Midwest League team is a Class A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. |

| Spider-Man rescues autistic boy |

BANGKOK (AFP) – A Thai fireman turned superhero when he dressed up as comic-book character Spider-Man to coax a frightened eight-year-old from a balcony, police said Tuesday.
Teachers at a special needs school in Bangkok alerted authorities on Monday when an autistic pupil, scared of attending his first day at school, sat out on the third-floor ledge and refused to come inside, a police sergeant told AFP.
Despite teachers' efforts to beckon the boy inside, he refused to budge until his mother mentioned her son's love of superheroes, prompting fireman Sonchai Yoosabai to take a novel approach to the problem.
The rescuer dashed back to his fire station and made a quick change into a Spider-Man costume before returning to the boy, he said.
"I told him Spider-Man is here to rescue you, no monsters are going to attack you and I told him to walk slowly towards me as running could be dangerous," Somchai told local television.
The young boy immediately stood up and walked into his rescuer's arms, police said.
Somchai said he keeps the Spider-Man costume and an outfit of Japanese television character Ultraman at the station in order to liven up school fire drills. |
